A side lunge with a kettlebell at the chest. It strengthens the adductors and hips in the side to side plane runners rarely train.
Stand with the feet together, holding the kettlebell at your chest. Step wide to one side and sit the hips back over that foot while the trailing leg stays straight, toes pointing forward. Push off the working foot back to the start.
Dropping straight down instead of sitting back, which lets the knee cave in. Sit the hips back over the heel. If the groin pulls, shorten the step.
This video shows the movement. Your dose and progression depend on your plan. Not sure where to start? Take the free ADAPT assessment.
