A single leg hip hinge with a kettlebell in the hand on the standing leg side. Builds hamstring and glute strength and balance for runners.

How to do it

Hold the bell in the hand on the same side as your standing leg. Keep a slight bend in that knee and hinge at the hip, letting the free leg extend behind you. Lower until the trunk is close to parallel with the floor, then return to standing. Do both sides.

Common mistake

Rounding the back to reach the bell lower. Hinge from the hip with a long spine and stop where you lose that position.

Helps with

  • Hamstring strains
  • Running injuries
