Neck CARs: slow, controlled, end range circles of the neck with the rest of the body held still. Done daily, they keep the neck moving through its full range.
Sit or stand tall with the arms crossed or relaxed. Tuck the chin and bring it down toward one shoulder, lift it over that shoulder and up toward the sky, roll across to the other shoulder, then back down to the start. Move slowly, then reverse direction. Do a few circles each way, daily.
Letting the trunk side bend, the shoulders shrug or the hips push forward as you look up. Keep everything below the neck still, even if that makes the circle smaller.
This video shows the movement. Your dose and progression depend on your plan. Not sure where to start? Take the free ADAPT assessment.
